Proving the Wind
Proving the Wind is an installation piece Bada made while on residency in Cape Town, South Africa. It is an intriguing place with a lot of history and many different undercurrents that one doesn’t notice at first. As it is a coastal town, Cape Town is quite windy, perfect for flying kites. These airborne little paper structures use the wind to flying, something that is invisible yet everyone knows it is there and exists. Kites are a solution to making the wind visible. The installation invites its viewer to ponder how they could prove that something unseen does exist.
